Wesito & Friends, The Alex Dyring Band, Mic Flont & Khingz Benefit Concert For Migrant Families

Our August “Lowercase Concert Series” will be a special one! We're excited to welcome Alex Dyring as he hosts a benefit concert for detained migrant families.

The goal is to provide a platform to speak through music and poetry about our personal stories of immigration and embracing the cultures that we come from. 50% of all ticket proceeds will go to charity to provide support for the families currently detained at the Southern U.S. Border. Ticket are $10 at the door.

There will be two parts two the evening. The first will be a performance by Wesito & Friends in collaboration with bassist and multi-instrumentalist, Alex Dyring. Wesito & Friends is led by Seattle Symphony violist/arranger Wes Dyring. This instrumental performance of folkloric and traditional Latin American songs will feature a stripped down ensemble of viola, electric bass, keys and percussion.

The second half of the evening features members of Seattle Hip hop collective OTOW Gang, namely Khingz and Mic Flont. The intent is to combine the poetry centered around topics of immigration within our families, and experiences of living as a minority in the United States, over the backdrop of our instrumental ensemble that draws from Hip hop, Neo Soul, Classical, and Latin American music.

Please note that this a ticketed concert event to highlight each artist's music- not just background music. We ask that all attendees are respectful of the musicians during their performances. Seating is first come, first served- so please arrive early to secure your seat! You are more then welcome to bring any outside food or non-alcoholic beverages.
