Seattle Breweries Discover the Friendly Atmosphere of Lowercase Brewing

Our beautiful city of Seattle has a reputation for having the best brews, of both coffee and beer, since the 19th century. Our beer-making even predates Washington's statehood, so it's no wonder that our city has the most number of breweries nationwide, with over 174 all across town. In 2014, Lowercase Brewing joined the ranks of prominent Seattle Breweries. We're a small, hard-working, award-winning craft brewery perfectly nestled in our little corner of Georgetown. And we're here to serve you.

Joining the Family of Seattle Breweries

Before dreaming up our own brewery, we spent years enjoying other establishments and refining our palates. We developed a love of beer and a fascination with the process of making it. This love of beer inspired us to begin experimenting in our own basement and have our friends be our tasters, our toughest critics, and our biggest fans. Batch after batch we learned how to tweak and adjust our process to create the variety of beers we now offer today.

We began as humble homebrewers and have tirelessly worked to create our unique lineup of well-crafted beers. We had high hopes that our brews would taste good and keep our friends happy, and they did. So we grew! We wanted to stay local to support the community that has continued to support us. By keeping the focus on the beer, we've received 2019 Washington Beer Awards, including the Mid-Size Brewery of the Year and our beers have been awarded too.

What We Offer

Our establishment has never sought to be grand or ornate. We are simple, well-groomed, and keep the spotlight on the beer. We love to give brewery tours to show you how the pint you are drinking is made and we offer sample flights so you can taste the wide array of flavors and styles. Our local, independent craft beers are the star of the show, but to balance the beer we do offer just the right amount of good snacks.

Every star needs an entourage, so we created a selection of small bites that complement our drink selection. Our homemade pub mix is a great choice for snacking, as is our Soft Pretzel Board that includes our homemade beer cheese which is like nothing you've ever tasted before. Our Okazu Pan is a spectacular Japanese Pastry, breaded and fried with your choice of savory BBQ Tasso, Beef Curry, or our delicious vegan option. Check out our menu for more options.

Our Community

Pubs were born out of people wanting a place to enjoy life, good company, good conversation, and good brews. The phrase Public House is where the word pub originated from, and our local brewery continues this tradition. We have created a friendly atmosphere that encourages friends and family to meet up and give the people in our community the opportunity to get to know their local beer makers. We are also proud of our contributions to the Georgetown area economy.

Our taproom and patio are safe and welcoming to adults, children, and leashed dogs. Because of the casual nature of our brewery we are very family-friendly. While no one under 21 will be served alcohol, we have board games and a nice outdoor area for the whole family to relax. If your larger party is looking to make a day of it, you are welcome to bring in food from a local restaurant and linger as long as you please.

Our Taproom

We love our taproom! It's classy without being snobby. It's casual, clean, and full of beer. We have indoor tables and couches, and we have outdoor seating with heating so even on those colder nights you can enjoy a cold pint in the fresh air. Our restrooms are well-maintained and well-stocked, and our kitchen never runs out of free popcorn. Just ask! Check out our calendar for special offerings like waffles, donuts, or brunch when we partner with popular local eateries.

We always have 13 beers on tap, one cider tap, a wine tap, and, because we just love to brew anything, a cold-brew coffee tap. If you found a beer you love and want to take some home, we offer 4-packs to-go and a 32oz LoBoy growler that's made to order, sealed right in front of you after filling. If you're looking for us outside of our taproom, we distribute beer kegs all throughout the Tacoma and Seattle areas.

The Ambience

Located just across from the main thoroughfare of Georgetown, we love being a local watering hole for your friends and coworkers on a long afternoon or after a busy workday. Pull up a chair and relax with a sampler and chat with your party, as our music is just loud enough to enjoy, but not so loud you have to shout. Grab a board game and a table or sit on a couch and watch one of the TVs.

Our goal has always been to make a comfortable space where you can visit more than once a week but also for special occasions. Our beautiful architecture and various artwork give a contemporary vibe while keeping the integrity of the homegrown operation and an authentic feel. We love our regulars and appreciate the first-timers, so don't be afraid to ask our expert beertenders anything you want to know. Our beer is meant to be enjoyed, celebrated, and shared with our community.

What's Always on Tap

We have a great selection of beers that are offered all year long: some hefty, some wheaty, and some hoppy. Our handy beer manual will get you started with a quick description of everything on tap and how it's made so you'll know the gist of what you're actually ordering. We are happy to give you a taste of any you want to try and our sampler is an especially great way to truly get the essence of each brew.

Our brews are high quality. We put local, fresh ingredients into every batch. We want to give you a brew that offers you a unique experience and never sacrifices quality and we work to achieve that every day. Our regular ales are the Brown Ale, Extra Special Bitter, Pale Ale, Rye India Pale Ale, and the Strata India Pale Ale. We also regularly have our Italian Pilsner and Mexican Lager. Most of our regulars are award-winning and locally famous.

Health and Safety Standards

As a local eatery and brewery, we have adhered to the strictest of safety standards since our first opening. The recent pandemic has caused us to take extra precautions by following county guidelines and keeping our patio seating available for outdoor dining. Our restrooms, tables, and seats are frequently sanitized between patrons. We are committed to our customers' and employees' safety.

Life is too short to be drinking inferior beer from mass productions. It's time to appreciate good quality ale from a local brewery. Our fresh ingredients, transparent brewing process, and knowledgeable staff make our beers irresistible. We take enormous pride in what we do because we love it and we want you to love it, too. Call or stop by Lowercase Brewing today to join us for a refreshing pint in a relaxing space. We'll save a seat for you.
